The United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa (UNOCA) Requests the United States of America to mediate in the crisis in the Cameroons

          There has been a political conflict in Cameroon since 2016. The conflict emancipates fro the FOUNDATION of Cameroon. Cameroon was initially a single country under the Germans from Saturrday 12 July 1884 to 1916 when the Germans were defeated during WW1 by a joint Anglo-French force. This was prooceded by the partition of Cameroonn between France and Britain. Given that the dividers had antagonisising cultures, joint administration failed. As mandated territories of the League of Nations, French Cameroon got her independence in 1960 while Southern Cameroons was instead asked whether to have independence by joining La Republique Du Cameroun or Nigeria. This was extraordinary as it did not permit Sothern Cameroonians to be independent.

      As a result of the gross differences in culture and the fact that La Republique du Cameroun was more populated than Southern Cameroons, the joinning has gradually led to claims of cultural dominance by the Southern Cameroonians which finally led to the armed conflict since 2016. 

     It should be noted that the UNOCA request is coming when the Swiss-led mediation offer has over stayed. They therefore request that the US be assisted by the Germans in the mediation.
